Marygrace The Model!

We aren't too proud, but we took our daughter to have professional pictures here in Changsha and they asked us to come back Friday. They want to take more pictures for their store. The photography studio is a small chain here and she will be the studio's new model! So even when we leave, Marygrace's photos will remain here. Sorry we could not post yesterday the internet was not working. Thank you to all who have left us a comment, we love to read them! Miss Marygrace is absolutely amazing! She appears totally at ease with Scott and I (now). Until yesterday she was a total daddy's girl! She has no problems communicating with us, she points to what she wants. She has already used the sign for "more" and has learned to blow kisses. She is a very social and happy little girl. We love to hear her giggle, which she does often. We know she hears some loud noises and it's obvious she is very smart. Don't worry Grandpa Ollie, you now have six smart grandchildren!!! Marygrace is sleeping through the night and taking a 2-3 hour nap, eating tons (like dad), wearing pull-ups and using a mini squatty potty. She loves congee, fried rice, watermelon, apples, noodles and McDonald's french fries (yes, Scott risked his life taking a taxi to McDonald's). The drivers here are the craziest we have ever seen!!! Well it's a good thing this is not a Christmas letter, because we know that we are bragging a little too much! Hope you don't mind. We can't wait to introduce you all to the newest Seafield. We'll try and post pictures tomorrow. We miss you all!

We have been practically glued to the computer (major goosebumps!) since you left for China. We love your blog... and the photos are priceless! What a sweetheart Marygrace is! We're so excited for you and your family. God is good!

We'll be praying for your safe return home, and that the bonding continues to go so well.

Kelley and Scott, Mom reads your blog to me every day and blew up the pictures of Marygrace. What a beautiful little girl. Today I got emotional hearing how well everything is going. I'm so happy for the two of you. Can't wait to meet my 8th Great Grandchild.
Love Always,
Grandma

Kelley and Scott, I too got emotional hearing how well things are going. Praise the Lord! The 25th can't come quick enough. News from home: We went to Jeff's on Sunday and had a beautiful day, weather wise and socially. We missed you both though. The boys played croquet and football with Ollie,Tom and others. Austin had a remote control boat that they had a chance to use. Caden fell in the water. Josh and Austin were there to rescue him. He never was in any danger the men were all down there too. He was just running to fast and got too close to the edge when his foot went out from under him. However, he didn't like getting wet. I think he also learned a valuable lesson, of why mom and dad don't allow him by the water. We had hamburger, hot dogs and brats. Everyone brought side dishes. I was disappointed that Marilyn didn't make it. She was depressed that she probably wasn't going to hear from her son. Pati and Ollie sound like they're doing just fine this week, Boys have been good. Love you both, Mom (Give Mary a hug and a kiss from Mingy)God be with you all. Be careful when you go back Friday that no one try's to snatch Mary from you, I'm always leery of things like that. Take another couple with you. Another God be with you.

kelley and scott, I love reading your follow ups and look forward to seeing more pictures. Jeff was all choked up when we saw your gotcha day pictures. He even said if it weren't so expensive and time consuming he would consider doing the same (that tells you how touched he was). We have shown Caden the pictures and look forward to meeting her. Love, Lara

Scott and Kelley,
I can't help but post to you each time a new blog is up. I want to just pick up the phone and share in all of your excitement! I am sure you would love to be bringing sweet Marygrace (the model) home tomorrow. We all wish you were.

I feel like God gave you a gift allowing a picture of her to be left in China. Because her identity begins there, it's neat that she'll still "make her mark" in China. It's kind of like her goodbye gift to China! :) I can't wait to see the pictures. (How did you ever think of doing that??? It's difficult enough for me to take time to do it in the U.S.!)

Our whole family prays for all of you each night. The kids are just as excited to see Marygrace as we are!

Congratulations -- I'm so happy for you guys!!

As Marygrace's pediatrician, I'll try to hold judgement on the risking of life & limb for french fries, but everything else sounds wonderful! :)

Be well, and we'll see you when you return.....
